DOG'S DESCRIPTION

This sweet girl was one of the dogs from the recent hoarding case. Abby was tied to a barrell and extremely skinny when she was finally taken to safety. It was apprant by her actions that not only was she tied up and kept outside but also physically abused. She was extremely scared and shy when she arrived at her foster home. Abby has made great strides while living with her foster. She is very affectionate and loves the other dogs. She is starting to really come out of her shell but is still on the timid side. She needs a home with a fenced in yard and no young children as their energy and sudden movements may scare her. Abby would do best in a home with another dog who she can take cues from and play with. She will need a family who can be patient with her while she learns her doggie manners. Could you be Abby's second chance at a happy life?

Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.

Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
